Lowestoft could once have been described as being on the cutting edge of porcelain production. Lowestoft Studio Porcelain is celebrating this with our own versions.
In the 1780s the Bell Lane Lowestoft Porcelain factory began producing early forms of seaside souvenirs for visiting tourists which included commemorative plaques for births, deaths, weddings and other wares that were decorated with ‘A Trifle from Lowestoft’ on them.
Using similar methods and materials as the original factory, Lowestoft Studio Porcelain are reviving these plaques to bring heritage skills and history into the modern age. We will be launching these at Studio 42 East, 42 High Street, Lowestoft, NR32 1HZ on September 19th 2026.
When: 10.00am – 4.00pm, Saturday 19th September
Where: Studio 42 East, 42 High Street, Lowestoft NR32 1HZ
This event is free to attend. There is no need to book.
