We often have to pop into Tesco for something we’ve forgotten and to pick-up last-minute bits and pieces… but visits to the old Tesco building on London Road North in Lowestoft will be much more intentional in September 2026, as from the 12th to the 21st September a collective of Easterly Artists will be exhibiting their visual artwork related to the theme of ‘On the Edge’!

But, what could that mean?

Easterly Artists is a collective of talented artists, all based within a 20-mile radius of Ness Point. They meet regularly and come together to exhibit and share their visual artwork in exhibitions. This eclectic group encompass painting and drawing, printmaking and sculpture; oil and acrylic; collage and clay: spanning abstract, landscape, figurative, 2D 3D, ceramics, contemporary painting and sculpture to delight and provoke your senses and perceptions.

Lowestoft knows what it means to live on the edge — geographically, culturally, and creatively and this September, the old Tesco building on London Road North will be transformed into a bold, imaginative pop‐up gallery where that idea takes centre stage. But, what might you expect from an exhibition titled ‘On the Edge’? Firstly, expect to be dazzled! Each artist will run with the theme and respond to how it captivates their imagination – perhaps a response to climate change and the literal erosion of the East Anglian coast… or maybe an observation of the human condition leaving us often feeling ‘On the Edge’. Responses may be literal or imaginative- but what you can be sure of, is an extraordinary pop-up exhibition that has something exciting for everyone to enjoy.
