Marshland Histories

Marshland Histories is an oral history project along the Lower Waveney Valley, on the edge of the marshland landscape. This event will show highlights of the two series of picture podcasts created for the project – short films featuring the voices of locals recounting memories and stories, showing images from archive photos, quirky illustrations, and video footage and photos from the modern day.

Vicky Eyles from Suffolk Wildlife Trust will introduce the project, while Dean Parkin and Naomi Jaffa from Poetry People will be there to show the short films and share insights and poetry created for the project.

Where: Mayfly Cafe, 72 High St, Lowestoft NR32 1XN

When: 3.00pm – 5.00pm, Wednesday 21st October

This event is free. There is no need to book. The bar will be open for drinks in the Mayfly, so bring cash or card if you’d like to purchase anything.
